We’re currently looking for Production Managers to join our team! You would be responsible for ensuring the success of various productions by advancing all the technical aspects of concerts, festivals and shows by collaborating with artists, technical engineers, venues, promoters and our own Operations and Sales Departments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the concert production industry would be used to working on their own while managing their time in a fast-paced environment.
Our office and warehouse are collocated allowing for a business casual environment however are open to remote production managers (for the right candidate).
Responsibilities:
- Correctly advance and confirm all technical requirements will perform as intended and anything which may be needed for audio, lighting, video, staging and transportation
- Ensure that all productions are cost-effective including assisting with labour coordination to achieve desired budgets
- Work with operations department to schedule and arrange for local, national and international deliveries regarding trucking and transportation of equipment
- Accurately forecast and quote any required flights, hotels, ferries, car rentals, buses or any other necessary production needs
- Forecast equipment shortages in rental system with account reps
- Prepare all documents to be provided to the Crew Chief for each production
- Identify opportunities for upselling during production calls or while on tour
- Draw and design any rigging or stage plots for venues and tours
Requirements:
- 3 years minimum Concert, Tour and Stage Production experience OR
- 3 years prior management experience in an entertainment venue
- 1 year experience with Arena Rigging and/or CAD
- A full understanding of audio, lighting, video and staging in concert, theatre, television, and architectural practices
- Ability to work flexible hours and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to make clear, concise decisions with potentially limited information
Soft Skills:
- Computer literate and comfortable with Office 365 and Windows/Mac platforms
- Experience with software such as rental systems and CRM’s
- Ability to show leadership and communicate effectively to team members
- Strong level of customer service and professionalism
- Strong time management with the ability to multi-task and delegate
- Ability to work independently for extended periods of time
- Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently for extended periods of time and make decisions
- Knowledge of entertainment equipment, technology and suppliers
Preferred Skills:
- CAD Drawing (WYSIWYG or equivalent)
- d&b Array Calc experience
- Background in management, staffing or labour coordination
- Level 1 First Aid
- Aerial Platform and Fall Protection training
- Forklift Certification (counter-balance and narrow-aisle/reach truck)
- Cardiac Arrest Management
- Performing Arts Supervisor Safety
- WHMIS
