Briere Production Group has a unique opportunity for an Shop Manager to join our team. We are looking for an independent, experienced industry professional, with proven technical background in Audio, Lighting, Video and Backline. The ideal candidate would be an individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for the event and concert production industry. As Shop Manager, you’ll oversee all warehouse operations, direct and assists all warehouse work, Supervise warehouse staff, and assigns work and duties as needed. Oversees all shop personnel including efficiency, job duties work performance, and attendance of shop employees. Ensures BPG policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Staff Management
- Participate in all Production Meetings
- Work with all BPG staff to create a family atmosphere
- Develop weekly schedules for the shop hands and show prep techs
- Work with Operations to identify, train and manage warehouse personnel
- Manage the daily sign in and sign out all hands in the shop
- Participate in Performance reviews with the Operations Manager of Shop leads
- In conjunction with Operations schedule appropriate number of staff within the assigned budgetary guidelines
- Train staff and monitor their performance and progress daily. Track attendance and time off requests in conjunction with the Operations Manager to ensure there are no conflicts. Monitor and adjust work schedules of staff as needed.
- Warehouse
- Manage all show preps and truck packs in partnership with Operations, Production Manager and show techs
- Defines the operational flow, facility layout, concept of operations, and improvements in productivity, accuracy, and capacity
- Maintain warehouse inventory, its whereabouts and condition
- Oversee equipment is returned in full and in good condition
- Ensure orders received from Operations are filled completely
- Communicate with Operations regarding rental bookings
- Oversee and perform inventory verification
- Order parts, supplies, equipment etc.
- Oversee maintenance of audio, lighting, backline, video systems advising on repairs when needed
- Responsible for safe and consistent operation of all equipment
- Recommend measures to improve methods and processes, work performance and quality control
- Ensure timely, daily opening and closing of the warehouse
- Ensure the warehouse is kept in a neat and organized condition at the end of each day
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Shipping / Receiving
- Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments
- Prepare items for shipment
- Establish and maintain transportation agents
- Assure timely shipping of orders
- Provide shipping quotes for Operations
REQUIREMENTS:
- Min 3 years working experience with audio, lighting, video and staging in concert, theatre, television, and architectural practices
- Advanced knowledge of d&b audiotechnik audio systems
- Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Flex Rental Solutions Software and Office 365
- Ability to work well independently or as part of a team
- The ability to work well under pressure and the ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to use common sense and problem solve, Detail oriented
- Experience in Materials Repair Operations of equipment and fleet requirements
PREREQUISITES:
- Forklift Certification
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Able to lift 50+ Pounds
- Level 1 First Aid (preferred)
- Fall Protection Training (preferred)
- Performing Arts Supervisor Safety (preferred)
- Live Performance Electrical Training (preferred)
- WHMIS (preferred)
